Feature Project – Waterloo Living Room, Bathroom & Kitchen Renovation

Our team of professional contractors went to work earlier this summer on a main floor home renovation in Waterloo, Ontario. The project included a living room, bathroom and kitchen renovation and we are excited to share the end result with you. We hope you like it as much as our clients and their beloved dog does!

Energy efficient improvements

This happens to be the second home renovation we completed at this Waterloo residence. We love revisiting a previous project, and reconnecting with our wonderful past client. They really love their home and their neighbourhood but wanted to make changes to the layout to better suit their needs and lifestyle. They were very keen on incorporating energy efficient upgrades like foam insulation, triple glazed windows and LED lighting to their home, making it more efficient and comfortable. We were happy to oblige.

It takes a team to complete a kitchen renovation

While demolishing the existing kitchen, we discovered a beautiful, original wooden beam which we then left exposed and lightly refinished. It makes for an impressive detail for this kitchen renovation. New triple glazed windows from Strassburger make the kitchen extra comfortable any season of the year and will help to reduce utility bills. Custom cabinets were built and installed by Cabinet Effects and the quartz countertop is from Cambria. Menno master electrician Ron installed the new LED pot lights and under cabinet lights and Vivero vinyl plank flooring (perfect for puppy paws) was installed by Armstrong Flooring. The kitchen now offers a lot more storage and improved functionality for our happy homeowners.

The living room transformation

The living room transformation started with new foam insulation, drywall, flooring and paint. An old, drafty fireplace was removed and existing pocket doors and hardware were reclaimed and stained by the homeowner and converted to beautiful sliding doors. An especially cool detail was the original manufacturing lettering on the door hardware. This newly renovated living room is comfortable and cozy and designed to work better for the homeowners’ current lifestyle.

A much better bathroom

The existing bathroom for this home was from the 1980s and had poor plumbing. There were lots of gaps, an oddly dropped ceiling and no insulation so the entire space was gutted and rebuilt. Urban Zebra tile was installed by Rich-Craft Interiors making the bathroom much more functional and welcoming.

All in all, this was a fun and rewarding project, and we are so happy with how happy our clients are with the renovation.
